Strong’s Stuff

1903-Frank-Strong
The Board of Regents elect Frank Strong as the sixth chancellor of KU, succeeding Francis Huntington Snow.

Graduating from Yale, and previously serving as the president of the University of Oregon, Strong lobbied for, and received, increased funding for KU.

In his years at KU (1902-1920), the schools of journalism, education and medicine were founded.  Four new buildings were added to campus during his tenure. The administration building, Strong Hall, is named in his honor.

Upon his resignation Strong began to teach Law.
