Lynette Woodard was the brightest star to shine on the KU women’s basketball program. A four-time All-America selection and two-time academic All-American, she averaged 26 points per game during her KU career. Her 3,649 points in her four years at KU is still the all-time record in women’s major college basketball. She went on to become the first female member of the Harlem Globetrotters, captain of the gold medal-winning 1984 Olympic team and played in the WNBA. She was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. in 2004 and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005. Learn more about Lynette in our article Wonder Woodard.
