Jo Jo White to Hall of Fame

jojo-tIn a ceremony held September 12, 2015, in Springfield, MA, Jo Jo White was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame. Also in attendance were his college coach Ted Owens, and fellow Naismith-inductee and Jayhawk Lynette Woodard.

White played for the Boston Celtics from 1969 to 1979, the Golden State Warriors from 1979-80, and the Kansas City Kings from 1980-81. Before that he was a standout on the Ted Owen’s led teams from 1965-69. He was named all Big Eight three years, 1967-69. He was also named consensus NCAA All-American Second Team in 1968 and 1969. He scored 1,286 points during his KU career and his jersey was retired in 2003.

White also competed in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, coming home with the gold medal.
